Datokarama English Education Journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Datokarama State Islamic University, Palu, Indonesia. The journal publishes scholarly works in English Language Education and English Applied Linguistics.
The journal focuses on research related to English language learning, English language teaching, teacher education, curriculum and instructional practices, language assessment, TESOL/TEFL, English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, multilingual and bilingual education involving English, and technology in English language learning.
DEEJournal also welcomes studies in English Applied Linguistics, including English phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, second language acquisition, language testing, and the use of English in educational, institutional, professional, intercultural, digital, and social contexts.
Manuscripts in education, linguistics, or applied linguistics that do not show a clear connection to the English language, English language education, or the use of English in relevant contexts are considered outside the journal’s scope and may be rejected during initial editorial screening.
The journal publishes original research articles, theoretical studies, literature reviews, critical reviews, and pedagogical innovations. All submitted manuscripts must strictly conform to the journal’s Focus and Scope, Author Guidelines, and Manuscript Template. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements will be rejected during the initial editorial screening stage.
Starting from Volume 7 (2026), DEEJournal publishes two issues per year: Issue 1 covers January to June, and Issue 2 covers July to December. The journal applies a continuous publishing model, meaning accepted articles are published online after peer review, editorial acceptance, and final production. Articles are assigned to the current issue within the corresponding publication period and do not wait for the issue to be fully compiled. Each issue is formally closed at the end of its publication cycle, on June 30 for Issue 1 and December 31 for Issue 2.
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening and double-blind peer review. Editorial decisions are based on relevance to the journal’s scope, academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, and publication ethics. All manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system.
